WHO IS AVOCADO SOCIAL?

Avocado Social is run by social media experts with over 15 years of industry experience. Founded in 2014, Avocado Social has been led by Alison and Richard, a husband-and-wife team dedicated to help businesses expand their knowledge and strengthen their social media presences.

Based in the UK, we’ve worked with global brands like Heineken, Canon and the BBC, but we’re just as passionate about helping smaller businesses create meaningful connections with their audiences.

MEET THE TEAM

ALISON BATTISBY - FOUNDER

Alison is an experienced social media strategist and trainer, bringing over 15 years of expertise to the digital marketing landscape. She began her career at leading, award–winning agencies in London, before founding Avocado Social in 2014.

When Alison isn’t exploring the world of social media, she’s spending time outdoors with her family and her lively Springador, Django. An avid swimmer and yoga enthusiast, she’s even mastered the occasional headstand. Alison also has a passion for dining out, especially when it comes to brunch—a love that sparked the inspiration behind Avocado Social. Care to guess her favourite brunch dish?

RICH HARMON - MANAGING DIRECTOR

Richard has years of experience in training and education, working with global energy businesses, leading universities and top law firms. He spent 10 years working in sales and business development before getting headhunted by his wife, Alison, to work for Avocado Social in 2018. He loves problem-solving almost as much as he loves a properly organised spreadsheet!

Outside of work, Rich likes to spend his time travelling, running, watching films and testing new recipes in the kitchen.

SARAH POORE – SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

Sarah graduated from the University of Manchester in 2023 with a degree in Fashion Marketing, which led her to work for a leading UK sportswear brand before joining Avocado Social as a Social Media Manager. She loves all things creative, and her favourite social platform is Instagram where she’s always looking for fashion inspirationand new food spots.

Outside of work, you’ll often find Sarah exploring new bars and restaurants around Manchester, walking in the Peak District, or watching Formula 1.
