Last night, we were pleased to deliver our first Social Media Workshop for Small Businesses, on behalf of Enterprise Nation. Enterprise Nation is a fantastic support community for entrepreneurs and they do such great work in connecting businesses, advising them and inspiring them to be successful! After their fantastic free StartUp2015 event on Saturday, which was hugely popular, we were back at Somerset House again to deliver our workshop to a group of 20 budding small business owners and startups.
Our founder Alison Battisby gave the two hour session which covered the main social media platforms and their functionality, how to find and post content, some time-saving tricks and how to grow your communities. We had some great chats about Snapchat and Instagram, about the use of images and photography and also about what time to post your content. If you’d like to come to our next workshop with Enterprise Nation, we have four more planned for this year! Here’s where to register. Three key takeaways from the event were:  1. Just pick two social media channels to begin with, and do them really well. Otherwise it’s too overwhelming! 2. Tell everyone about your social media efforts in a bid to get more likes, followers, shares and comments. You want to look like an active and fun community to join! 3. Use images! Tell your story through photography and use some of the fantastic free tools and apps such as Canva, PicMonkey, and PicCollage and to make your pictures look even better. We’ve had some great tweets from some of the fantastic businesses that attended. Looking forward to meeting more businesses at the next one!
