Social Media Workshops for Summer 2021

Our schedule of social media workshops for summer 2021 has just been announced. There couldn’t be a better time to upskill in social media, eCommerce, or digital marketing.

We have a wide range of courses available in all areas of social media marketing. They are ideal for marketing, PR, and communications professionals as well as small business owners and creative entrepreneurs.

The pandemic has dramatically changed consumer behavior, shifting focus to digital channels and online shopping. This has created a huge demand for social-savvy marketers. Areas such as paid social media advertising on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, as well as analytical skills, are in particularly high demand.

Here is our schedule of social media workshops for July, August, and September 2021.

July 2021

Instagram for Business: Skills to help you stand out – Goldsmith’s Centre – Wednesday, 14 July 2021, 10am – 1pm.

 

Instagram for Business is back at The Goldsmith’s Centre, the UK’s leading charity for the professional training of goldsmiths.

This workshop has been designed for jewellers and silversmiths who want to connect with their customers and grow their brand using Instagram. It will involve live demonstrations on Instagram, practical tasks and lots of great examples. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of how to use Instagram to its fullest potential.

Alison will guide jewellers, silversmiths and those working in the allied industries through the fundamentals of running a successful Instagram account. The workshop will be delivered via Zoom. It is open to members and non-members for a cost of £79.

 

An Introduction to Social Media Strategy Mapping – General Assembly – Wednesday, 21 July 2021, 3pm – 5pm.

 

Social Media Strategy Mapping is a free introduction on developing and implementing an actionable social media strategy.

You will learn how to structure your social media efforts, captivate your audience on each social media platform, build brand awareness, and generate sales.

Alison will demonstrate the 10 key steps to creating a successful social media plan and process. We will cover how to develop and implement a social media strategy, understand the difference between major social media platforms, and identify which platforms to use for your business. 

Social Media for Profit – Propel – Thursday, 22 July 2pm to 5.15pm.

 

Social Media for Profit is a half-day social media masterclass for hospitality businesses. It’s been created to help professionals update and advance their social media knowledge.

The online masterclass will focus on how to reach more customers, drive loyalty and build a recognisable and trustworthy online brand. It is ideal for anyone working in marketing, communications or operations for a hospitality brand. 

Created by Alison Battisby of Avocado Social and Mark McCulloch of Supersonic Inc, this year will feature sessions on social media trends, employee engagement, social media advertising, creating perfect social media video, and how to audit and measure success. Throughout we will demonstrate best-in-class examples from restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, pubs, nightclubs, and more.

Picture This: Instagram for Business – General Assembly, Friday 23 July, 2pm – 4pm.

 

Picture This: Instagram for Business is an introductory 2-hour introductory course on how to use Instagram to grow your reach and awareness.  More than one billion people use Instagram every month, and roughly 90% of them follow at least one business.

Instagram is constantly adding new features and functionality for your business to take advantage of. This includes Reels, IGTV, Stories features, and new trends and memes that can rapidly build pace.

In this online workshop, we teach best practices, strategies, and actionable steps to begin leveraging Instagram for your business. 

Facebook and Instagram Advertising:  How to create an effective campaign – Goldsmith’s Centre, Wednesday 28 July – 10am – 1pm.

 

Most established jewellery brands now have a social media presence to reach their customers online. Many struggle to reach new audiences or convert their traffic into sales. So how do you take your social media to the next level and generate sales?

In this workshop, Alison will demonstrate how to create effective Facebook and Instagram advertising campaigns designed to generate sales.

The content has been designed specifically for jewellers and silversmiths. We will give a live demonstration of Facebook Ads Manager to illustrate how to generate online sales by creating and managing an effective advertising campaign.

August 2021

Social Media on a Budget – General Assembly – Friday 13 August – 2pm – 4pm.

 

If you are a small business or startup looking to build your brand awareness, then social media is a great marketing tool. It can also be useful for market research, customer advocacy, and support your sales.

Chances are that budgets will be very tight. Everything you create in social media and the steps you take to build your presence will be free.

In this workshop, Alison will offer best practices, strategies, and actionable steps to enhance your social media brand without spending any money (just your time).

Social Media Bootcamp – General Assembly – Thursday 26 August 2021, 10am – 5pm.

 

Social Media Bootcamp introduces participants to the current social media landscape and explores how it can be used for maximum results. This is for brands as well as agencies. Participants will leave with a detailed understanding of the current social media landscape and how to evaluate which tools and platforms are the best fit for them.

Topics to be covered will include: an overview of social media platforms, current social media trends, and their implications, how to tailor social media tools to your brand strategies, and the best social media tools for monitoring and ROI.

Case studies and tactics will be presented throughout the session and participants will gain hands on knowledge through live tasks and Q&A.

 

How to Audit your Social Media – Avocado Social, Friday 27 August 2021, 2pm – 4pm.

 

Your social media channels have a huge effect on your overall brand perception. Regular auditing of your social media is important to ensure you are setting the right first impressions and making the most out of your time and energy.

In this 2-hour workshop, you will learn how to audit your social media channels to ensure channels are set up for success. You will also be taken through the steps to evaluate your performance, review what kind of content converts, and what isn’t resonating with your audience.

There will be plenty of live practical demonstrations on platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. As well as measurement tools like Google Analytics and Bitly.
